SAGRIPANTI TAILOR'S SHOP
Tailor-made fashion in Rome's historic center
Sartoria Sagripanti was founded in 1964 by Franco Sagripanti, originally from the Marche region but now living in Rome, who dedicated his entire life to building this historic men's tailoring business in the heart of Rome.
Franco Sagripanti began his career as a men's tailor in Rome's most important tailoring shops. At just 22, he opened his first workshop in Rome, later moving to Via Condotti, in the capital's historic center.
He became Valentino 's personal tailor, who asked him to design men's clothing collections for his haute couture house. He also collaborated with textile manufacturing companies as a consultant in the pattern-making and cutting departments. Along with his experience in men's tailoring, the reputation of Sartoria Sagripanti and its owner also grew. He joined the National Academy of Tailors and was appointed Vice President of the European Chamber of Haute Couture, where, with his colleagues, he launched a tailoring school for young people wishing to learn the ancient craft of tailoring. Franco is also President of the Fontanella Borghese Association and in 2004 was awarded the title of "Maestro" by the mayor of Rome.
Today the tailoring shop is run by his sons Marco and Stefano, who carry on its values and tradition. It is located at Via Della Fontanella di Borghese 27, a few steps from the historic center of Rome. Close to Trinità dei Monti and Piazza di Spagna.
CUSTOM-MADE SUITS IN ROME'S HISTORIC CENTER
Sartoria Sagripanti creates custom suits for the man who seeks exclusivity and attention to detail. The creation of each suit begins by listening to the client to understand what type of tailoring they want and for what occasion (work, gala evening, event, ceremony, or leisure). Taking measurements is the next step, and is carried out with great care, with the aim of creating a made-to-measure suit that perfectly fits the figure, like no other suit ever could.
Fabrics for Custom Suits
The material, color, and details of a suit give it its final "character." Sartoria Sagripanti's tailors offer a variety of fabric samples for every occasion. For summer, the selection includes cotton, linen, pinstripe, and silk satin, as well as the latest technical fabrics coated with silk proteins for a lustrous sheen. For the colder months, wool and frescolana, tweed, and wool pinstripe are available. Fabrics range from classic to trendy colors.
